The Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has just released its latest round of vehicle crash test results, with the Ford Falcon FG MkII sedan and ute, Ford Kuga, Kia Optima and Kia Rio awarded the maximum five-star rating.

The Ford EcoSport SUV will be unveiled at the 2012 India Auto Expo in Dehli on 5th January, effectively confirming this is the small vehicle Ford Australia has confirmed will be sold locally

Ford Performance Vehicles has assembled 300 new supercharged V8 cars, going on sale very soon

 Performance car fans will be pleased to know that FPV's new supercharged V8 models are ready to roll.

More than 300 brand new V8-powered FPVs were assembled at the niche car maker's Campbellfield facility on the outskirts of Melbourne, which will be delivered to dealers ahead of their official on-sale date, Monday October 25.

Ford Performance Vehicles new range of supercharged V8s come in two guises, the high output 335kW version that powers the GT, GT-P and GT E models, and the 315kW engine found in the entry-level FPV GS models.

"We've already allocated every car we can make to dealers between now and the end of this year," said FPV General Manager Rod Barrett said.

"It's an exciting time ... the interest in the new cars is the best we've ever seen, and the response from the media has certainly reinforced our belief that we've produced the best-ever Australian-made performance cars."

Ford Performance Vehicles will launch its first supercharged V8 engine at this year’s AIMS...

...  when its new GT and GS model ranges make their public debut.  The new FPV GT and GS model ranges will both be powered by all-new lightweight 5.0-litre supercharged Ford ‘Coyote’ V8 engines.

The GT’s engine will produce 335kW of power and 570Nm of torque, while the engine in the GS will produce 315kW of power and 545Nm of torque.  FPV claims both engine configurations will be more powerful, more fuel-efficient and cleaner than any engine previously offered by the company.

The new FG Falcon is the best car Ford Australia has ever built.

It is arguably the best car ever built in Australia and certainly the new benchmark for Australian family cars. The styling may not be a drop-dead revolution, rather a gentle evolution retaining all the cues of a line of Falcons stretching back eight generations, but dynamically the FG is a triumph.

The nameplate has been a constant in Australian life since the first car, an XK, rolled down Ford's Campbellfield production line on June 28, 1960.  To help celebrate, Ford is planning a range of activities to celebrate the models' 50th anniversary as the country's longest running nameplate, from limited edition 50th anniversary cars to one-off factory tours.

Deceptively spacious inside, with a big effort put into workmanship, it punches above its weight in its class for styling and is a real performer. Pricing is from $21,490.

There are a lot of reasons to like Australia's newest green car. But here is the clincher: it's a great drive.  The Ford Fiesta Econetic hit Australia with all sorts of claims about fuel economy and emissions, as the blue oval brand touts it as a Prius beater. And with a $15,000 price advantage over the Toyota hybrid.

The new Sportage SUV is a leap in ride and handling for Kia.
