Why Tyres Tread Depth Matters
Your tyres are the only point of contact between your car and the road. As tread depth decreases, your braking distance increases — dramatically.
At 3mm tread depth, stopping distance is extended by 9.5 metres (approx. 2 car lengths).
At 1.6mm tread depth, stopping distance is extended by 18.6 metres (approx. 4 car lengths).
